CSA: Day at the Capitol 2024

The California Sign Association led a group of its members, business, and community leaders, to Sacramento on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, for a Day at the Capitol. Following the CSA Board of Directors Meeting that morning at the Old Spaghetti Factory, the delegation gathered to prepare their unified voice of topics and items relevant to the on-premise sign industry and doing business in California.

Following a fabulous lunch, fifteen members, legal counsel, and staff, broke down into teams, headed to the Capitol, meeting with numerous Capitol Representatives from the Assembly and Senate.  It was a wonderful opportunity for CSA to have a seat at the Legislative Table!

    Topics included:

Virtual Permitting/Inspections coupled with Standardized Engineering
    STW Requirements/DOL Restrictions
    Striking Worker Bill, SB 1116
Contractors License Requirement Exemptions, AB 2622
“Arena” Exemption in the Outdoor Advertising Act, SB 1488

After the meetings concluded, we all gathered at Fox & Goose, a legendary pub and music venue not far from the Capitol, with cold drinks in hand, sharing our thoughts & experiences from the day’s adventure.
