• ADA Sign Guidance

    The Division of the State Architect (DSA) provides access compliance services for public schools and state-funded construction; develops and maintains vital reference resources to assist clients in meeting accessibility standards; assists in the administration of Certified Access Specialist program (CASp) and other programs; and develops access-related building code amendments. The Department of Justice’s revised regulations for Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) were published in the Federal Register on September 15, 2010.  The state recently adopted modifications to ADA signage requirements, among many other changes. In the Express Terms document, several non-substantive editorial changes were made to conform to model code format and to correct minor drafting errors.
