• CSA 2020 Vision Statement

A Focus on the Future While Building on the Past

"As President of the California Sign Association, I declare that this year’s theme is '2020 Vision.'”

---Message from Rob Riley, CSA President

Yes, I am playing off the year 2020 as we will never see that year again.

When I think of Theme, I think of a theme for the whole year that I am your President, not just for the Convention or part of the year or for special CSA functions. That is also what I would like to see moving forward for one of the largest and most powerful State associations in the nation.

Growing up and getting your eyes checked, 2020 vision was always the best vision a person could have. It represents superior vision. That is what I see moving forward in our association: A Great Vision, a vision that will move the whole Industry forward, not just in California, but every state in the Nation. That takes a Big Vision and it is what I have been seeing moving up the ranks and becoming your president.

As we take on many challenges in 2020 our vision will remain steadfast regarding all of the things CSA has been working on (some for years, as it’s necessary to never let up when it comes to our members’ interests). Whether it’s an active government affairs agenda, crane safety programs, CARB regulations, Standardized Engineering, or any new challenge that may arise, we never let up. The Sign Training & Educational Program Series, STEPS, is at the forefront of that vision as we have been laying the groundwork for four years now. Yes, Big Visions take time and establishing a sound foundation is most important to the success of this monumental program moving forward.

As many of you know, my background is in distribution sales to the sign industry. I travel from sign shop to sign shop and talk with owners, foremen, department heads. Everywhere I went for the last 30 plus years the concern has not changed. “Rob…. I cannot find any qualified help…. If you know anyone, please……Send them my way.” It has been and still is the number one concern in our Industry today.

This is a huge undertaking. It is the biggest that I have had the privilege to be a part of here at CSA.
This industry has afforded us a living. Now it is time to give back for the future and leave it better than we found it by tackling the Biggest concern to our Industry for decades.

Yes, the Vision is Great… The Vision is 2020…. It is “2020 Vision!”
