May 21, 2025 – CSA Day at the Capitol
The California Sign Association remains committed to educating and streamlining permit procurement and associated inspections for on-premise signs, with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) throughout the state of California.
Join us in Sacramento as we roam the legislative hallways to meet with elected officials and staff of the Assembly and Senate Business & Professions and Economic Development committees to share our concerns about topics affecting the sign industry.
Following the 5/21/25 Lunch & Learn, directors will be visiting senators and/or assembly members, acquainting our state legislators, on who and what the California Sign Association is. The Legislature began life in 1849 with only 16 Senators and 36 Assembly Members. Half of each house came from the mining districts of Sacramento and San Joaquin! Today, however, most representatives come from the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego, where our population is concentrated.
This is an opportunity for you to make a difference and be a part of your industry’s future, becoming more informed citizens with an appreciation for the democratic process and the life cycle of a bill, from being an idea to becoming a law, and being chaptered by the Secretary of State.
JOIN US AT THE OLD SPAGHETTI FACTORY!
Preceding the Capitol visits, the CSA Lunch & Learn will include topic review of the discussion points we would like to bring to the table.
Jeff Aran, CSA Legal Counsel, is prepared to bring those in attendance up-to-speed on recent legislation, regulations, and challenges affecting the sign industry and California business owners, in preparation for approaching Capitol Representatives with a unified voice.

The efforts include ongoing discussions pertaining to virtual processes and utilization of Standardized Engineering, subjects to be addressed on May 21st at the State Capitol in Sacramento.
CSA also remains dedicated to bringing industry awareness and opportunities available, to the future personnel CSA members are searching for. We were pleased to hear of Governor Newsom’s $245 Million Blueprint for Economic Growth, reflecting workforce development.
CSA looks forward to this annual event to maintain visibility and stay engaged in front of our state representatives during their decision making process as referenced below.
